Dr. Sharps is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgery. He has lectured and presented internationally on the topic of minimally invasive spine surgery for discogenic pain. Dr. Sharps is a former President of the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society, and has been a Board member since 1993. His medical honors include membership in AED and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society. He also served as Physician for the USFL Philadelphia Stars Football team. Dr. Sharps completed his Surgical Internship and Orthopaedic Surgical Residency training in 1980 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.
